BRS brings a 1,000-day receipt book
KTR has announced a week-long campaign against the Congress government’s promises. The government’s own records show several guarantees were launched; the full ledger is still missing.
The campaign’s proposed charge sheet arrives alongside entries already recorded in government documents.
The BRS will run a statewide campaign from September 2 to 8, 2026, questioning the Congress government’s election promises and alleged administrative failures, party working president K T Rama Rao said. The programme includes protests, farmer meetings, constituency events, representations and “Baaki Cards” listing benefits the party says remain pending. The BRS has repeated claims about 420 promises, 13 declarations, six guarantees and Rs 12,000 crore in fee-reimbursement dues. The material available does not establish those figures. It does establish that the Congress government’s own records say free bus travel for women, enhanced Aarogyasri, the Rs 500 gas-cylinder scheme and free electricity up to 200 units were launched or implemented, while the government also claimed to have launched a farm-loan waiver up to Rs 2 lakh. So the charge sheet has a useful job: replace slogans with a promise-by-promise ledger. The Congress government has not publicly answered the campaign’s specific allegations in the material reviewed. Its records, however, have already supplied several entries for the receipt book.
