BRS brings a calculator to Congress’s promise ledger

The schedule includes constituency-level dharnas over the six guarantees, farmer conferences, protests over 22A prohibited lands, meetings with women and persons with disabilities, youth and student rallies, an autorickshaw rally in Hyderabad, Prajavani representations and district press conferences. The BRS also plans to support teachers’ and employees’ union protests on September 10. These are announced events; their completion is not yet established. The BRS says Congress made 420 promises and has delivered about 5%, leaving 95% unfulfilled. Those figures are political claims, not an independently published audit. Government records do confirm implementation or provision for several guarantees: free bus travel for women, ₹500 LPG cylinders, Gruha Jyothi electricity relief, Rythu Bharosa and pensions. The state’s own 2024 outlook reported 1.37 crore zero electricity bills under Gruha Jyothi by June 30, 2024. The full promise ledger, however, remains unpublished. Congress has not publicly answered this specific campaign announcement, leaving the BRS to bring its own arithmetic to the argument.
