BRS leads poll; methodology takes leave
A reported Chanakya Strategies survey puts BRS at 40.7% and Congress at 37.1%, but offers no public sample design, sponsor or margin of error.

A Chanakya Strategies survey reported BRS leading Congress in Telangana, with 40.7% of stated vote preference against Congress’s 37.1%. The BJP was placed at 14.1%, with others or none at 8.1%, according to reports published on September 1 and 2, 2026. The reported BRS-Congress gap is 3.6 percentage points.
The survey reportedly covered 1,06,810 voters over two months and said dissatisfaction with the Congress government centred on unfulfilled promises, unemployment assistance, Rythu Bharosa, Rythu Bima, HYDRA and rural development. It also listed measures working in Congress’s favour, including free bus travel for women, new ration cards, Indiramma houses and free power up to 200 units.
That makes the result a poll claim, not a seat forecast. Chanakya Strategies’ own website describes it as a political consultancy and says it advises ministers and MLAs in Telangana. It has not publicly disclosed the survey’s sponsor, respondent selection, weighting, questionnaire, fieldwork dates or margin of error. A 3.6-point lead is therefore reported; a guaranteed return to power remains what it is—a confident conclusion waiting for its methodology to arrive.
