Congress bundles five files, waves one flag
At Gandhi Bhavan, Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy said the BJP and BRS are “blocking Telangana’s development”. The paperwork says something duller: proposals pending at the BJP-led Centre, tenders moving on Musi, and big semiconductor approvals sited — very specifically — in Gujarat and Assam. That is not one conspiracy; it is five different dossiers and a press line tying them together.

Congress chose a podium over documents. At a Hyderabad presser on August 25, Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy accused the BJP and the BRS of “deliberately trying to obstruct Telangana’s development”, from Metro Phase II to the Musi riverfront to the Regional Ring Road, and even the Chief Minister’s foreign travel. According to the report of that event, the charge is sweeping; the evidence on record is not.
Start with semiconductors. The BJP-led Centre’s own releases list three big approvals: a Tata fab in Dholera, Gujarat, a Tata OSAT in Assam, and a CG Power OSAT in Sanand, Gujarat — down to the rupee. Telangana, meanwhile, is on record pressing for early clearance of its own ASIP and Micro LED proposals. That establishes where the money went; it does not prove that an already-approved Telangana project was “diverted” to Gujarat. If the Congress government has that memo, it hasn’t shown it.
On Musi, the state has budgeted money, hired consultants and is running procurement for DPRs, surveys and even trash barriers. The Governor’s address and MRDCL tenders exist. What doesn’t, in the material Congress waved, is a BJP or BRS decision that stopped any of it. The Regional Ring Road is similar: HMDA has a published alignment; the state says 90% land acquisition on the north stretch and has asked the Union transport ministry for financial and Cabinet approvals. A delay at the BJP-led Centre is a real obstacle; calling it BRS “opposition” needs a vote, a file or a quote. None supplied.
Hyderabad Metro Phase II? HMRL says the state submitted 76.4 km of corridors as a JV project to the Union urban ministry, and later a bigger 86.1-km Phase II-B. The state is on paper asking Delhi to sign off and co-fund. That is a pending-approval story until the ministry stamps it, not proof of opposition by anyone in Telangana.
Even the travel line is thin. The claim that UK got a nod and the US didn’t is sourced to the Congress MP’s mic, not to a MEA letter. If G. Kishan Reddy said what Congress says he said, put the transcript up. Telangana will take progress over podium lines; the BJP-led Centre can clear Metro and RRR files this week if it wants the credit it keeps writing press notes for elsewhere. The Congress government in Telangana should bring the documents, not just the adjectives.
