The communique records the mechanism, not the reason. Reports link the removal to a Congress disciplinary dispute after remarks by Surekha’s daughter, Konda Sushmitha Patel, directed at Revanth Reddy and Parkal MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy. Surekha said her daughter’s views were independent and that she should not be held responsible for them.
Surekha has also alleged that she was sidelined as a Backward Classes woman leader and that decisions involving her departments were taken without her. Those remain allegations; no independent official finding confirming them was located. The Congress government has not publicly explained the political reason for the removal beyond the Governor’s formal wording. The three portfolios she held—Forest, Environment and Endowments—have not been reassigned in the material reviewed.
