Congress offers a debate; records are still pending

The Congress government’s answer to the BRS charge-sheet is a debate challenge. Minister Adluri Laxman said he was sending K. T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao a list of the government’s work over 1,000 days and challenged them to debate it in the Assembly, according to a September 2 report. He also described the BRS charge-sheet as containing “only lies”. The report did not identify which claims he meant, and no official transcript or recording was located.
The BRS charge-sheet, presented by KTR and Harish Rao, reportedly accused the Congress government of failing on guarantees, farm-loan waiver, unemployment, fee reimbursement, farmer welfare, debt and governance. Those are political allegations; the charge-sheet itself was not located for verification. Government records do confirm the six guarantees named in the 2024-25 Budget and show implementation steps for some. A July 2026 government release also says ₹9,000 crore was credited to 73.30 lakh farmers under Rythu Bharosa. A district page lists a first-phase target of 4.5 lakh Indiramma houses, but does not establish how many were completed.
So both sides have supplied slogans. The records needed to settle the argument remain unpublished or unchecked. The Congress government has offered a stage; Telangana still needs the audit.
