Congress orders inquiry, discovers the word ‘if’
G.O.Ms.No.134 names land matters involving BRS leaders, but proves no violation, offence or liability. The inquiry is the finding so far.

The Congress government in Telangana has ordered an inquiry into 16 sets of land-related matters involving BRS leaders and others. It has not, so far, established that anyone violated the law. The paperwork has at least retained one useful habit: reading its own verbs.
G.O.Ms.No.134, dated September 23, constitutes a committee headed by A. Sridevasena, IAS, to examine whether statutes, rules or government orders were violated. The order says the committee will fix responsibility “if any” and recommend action “wherever warranted”. It can requisition records from departments, collectors and other authorities.
The listed matters include land connected in reporting to K. Chandrashekar Rao, K.T. Rama Rao, T. Harish Rao and other BRS leaders, along with assigned, government, Bhoodan, forest and rehabilitation-related land issues. The order does not declare any of them guilty, and no final report, recovery order, criminal charge or conviction was located.
KTR has reportedly sought a judicial inquiry, while Harish Rao has accused the Congress government of misusing Section 22-A and demanded a white paper. KCR’s direct response was not located. The Congress government has not bothered to produce a final finding either. For now, it has produced a committee and a collection of conditional words.
