Congress says discipline. The report stays missing
Konda Surekha is out of Telangana’s Cabinet, but Congress still has not shown the disciplinary report it says justified the decision.
The government has announced the outcome; the disciplinary report remains unavailable.
Konda Surekha has been removed from the Telangana Council of Ministers with immediate effect after Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy recommended the action and Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla approved it, according to a Lok Bhavan communication. The Congress government has supplied the outcome. The paperwork behind it remains elsewhere.
TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud said the party’s Disciplinary Action Committee submitted a “comprehensive report” and that the AICC acted on its findings. He also said speaking about internal party matters in public was an “unforgivable mistake”. Reports said the committee recommended action against Surekha and Congress leader G Chinna Reddy, but the committee’s report, evidence, findings and recommendation have not been made public.
Surekha has alleged that Revanth Reddy “blackmailed” the leadership into acting against her. Goud rejected that allegation. Surekha’s direct response to Goud’s description of the report is not on record in the material reviewed.
Congress wants the public to accept a verdict without seeing the charge sheet. That is discipline by announcement, not transparency.
