CWPRS says ‘decide’; Congress says ‘case closed’

G. Jagadish Reddy says the CWPRS report proves Annaram and Sundilla are safe and that the Congress and the BJP ran a three-year hit on Kaleshwaram. That is his allegation. The CWPRS document we can all actually read is about Sundilla alone, is one page long, and it does not declare anything “safe”. It records significant low-velocity signatures in almost all bays — the kind of anomaly you investigate — and says the results will help decide “whether to store water in the barrage or not.” That decision sits with the project authority and NDSA, not in a slogan.
The BJP-led Centre’s own annual report documents the NDSA committees on Medigadda, and later on Annaram and Sundilla. That is a statutory process, not a “bogey”. And while the Congress government in Telangana thumps the table about “holes”, the primary Annaram report they wave at the cameras is still not on the record; what exists in public view is a secondary account. Meanwhile, CWPRS was tendering more geophysical surveys at Annaram and Sundilla in 2026 — not exactly the behaviour of an institute that just signed a blanket safety clearance.
Here is the Telangana-first point: if CWPRS has cleared both barrages, put the complete reports out — dates, report numbers, conclusions, the line that says “safe”. Until then, the BJP-led Centre’s paperwork shows NDSA is doing its job, and CWPRS’s own note keeps the safety call open at Sundilla. The Congress government in Telangana has not bothered to square that record with its soundbites.
