Telangana employee unions have called off or deferred a proposed agitation after talks with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju on September 23, according to reports quoting union leaders.
The reported assurance concerns pending dearness allowance instalments. One account says two DAs will be paid by Dasara and another between Sankranti and Ugadi. Another says the Chief Secretary will propose one DA for Dasara and one for Ugadi, subject to government approval. The terms, in other words, are still travelling without a government order.
The unions’ demands also include a Pay Revision Commission report, pending employee and pensioner bills, the old pension scheme, the Employees Health Scheme and the contributory pension system. A claim that bills worth up to ₹10,000 crore are pending comes from employee representatives and has not been independently verified here.
The Telangana government has not published a September 23–24 order sanctioning the DAs, their percentages, arrears or a payment date. Dasara falls on October 20, 2026, but “by Dasara” has not been defined in an official document. The protest has paused. The paperwork has not.
