Delhi tears, Telangana mute?
KTR called out Rahul Gandhi for marching with Delhi’s students while saying nothing about Telangana students manhandled in Mahabubabad. The Delhi part is on Congress’s own site. So is the Telangana video — and the SP benched the cop. The silence is all Rahul’s.
The contrast is between a public student protest in Delhi and silence over the Mahabubabad episode.
K. T. Rama Rao on 22 August asked Rahul Gandhi a simple thing: if you can sit in for students in Delhi, when do you show up for students in Telangana? He even offered a venue: outside the Chief Minister’s house in Jubilee Hills. That is on the record from his post, carried in reports reproducing his words.
Rahul did show up in Delhi. Congress’s own page lists him addressing a student-wing protest at Jantar Mantar on 23 August, and he did a sit-in at Parliament Street Police Station on 21 August over a student’s pellet-injury complaint — the cameras were invited and he spoke about standing with students on the road.
Meanwhile in Telangana, a video from Mahabubabad on 19 August shows the Town CI grabbing two polytechnic students by the throat during a protest over GO 97 outside the Collectorate. The district SP said the officer was taken off active duty and a DSP-level inquiry ordered. That is not “rumour”; it is the SP’s action on record.
What we do not have is any public word from Rahul Gandhi on Mahabubabad. If the Congress wants to claim he was unaware, it can say so. Until then, the contrast stands exactly as KTR framed it: front-row outrage in Delhi, studied quiet when it is the Congress government in Telangana under the light. The Congress’s megaphone works; it just goes mute when the feedback points home.
