Dulquer moves the goalposts; Prithvi walks in
I’m Game slides to September 3 for a wider rollout; Khalifa hit August 20 as planned. Telugu availability is claimed across listings, with the fine print doing its usual dance.
The films have release dates; the Telugu screen data is still pending.
Two South biggies took different routes to the Telugu screens this fortnight. Dulquer Salmaan’s I’m Game, first pegged for August 20, now lands on September 3 — the makers said they’re widening the pan-India launch and apologised for the delay. According to their announcement carried in a national outlet, it will release simultaneously in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada. A current ticketing page repeats the September 3 date and the language set.
Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Khalifa kept its August 20 date. BookMyShow lists it as Malayalam, Telugu “+1”, and trade pages say Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. The censor board record confirms the certification on August 13 but lists Malayalam as the language; the dubbed footprints are from commercial listings, which is how this industry likes to keep certainty optional.
Hyderabad show counts, Telugu screen numbers and any opening figures are still missing from the record. When distributors and exhibitors publish them, we’ll print them. Until then, the films have the dates; the data can catch up.
