Dulquer’s I’m Game shifts to Sep 3
The makers say the delay is to go wider — Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada — moving out of the Onam rush to a September 3 worldwide date.
I’m Game is scheduled for a worldwide release on September 3.
I’m Game, headlined by Dulquer Salmaan, is no longer an August 20 release. On August 13 the team said it will now open worldwide on September 3, citing a wider theatrical rollout across Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada.
Wayfarer Films framed it as scale, not slippage: “The game gets bigger. The release gets wider… #IMGAME will now release worldwide on 3rd September,” with an apology for the wait and a promise of more screens across markets. Independent reports the same day matched the dates and the multilingual plan.
What’s firm is the new date and the intent to go broader. What isn’t: how many screens, which territories, or whether every language opens at the same scale. Trade listings show September 3; they’re listings, not contracts. For Hyderabad and the Telugu belt, the takeaway is simple — two extra weeks, then Dulquer on a Friday that isn’t fighting Onam.
