Telangana EAGLE says it has frozen assets worth Rs 100.42 crore in 18 cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act since 2024. The reported figure covers properties, bank accounts, vehicles and businesses allegedly linked to drug-trafficking proceeds. The paperwork, however, has not yet made the same public appearance as the headline.
A reported year-wise breakup puts the amount at Rs 50.8 crore in nine cases in 2024, Rs 41.47 crore in six cases in 2025 and Rs 8.15 crore in two cases in 2026. The reports say freeze orders were obtained under Section 68F(2) of the NDPS Act, including orders issued on August 17 and 18, 2026. The actual orders were not publicly available in the material reviewed.
A freeze restricts transactions; it is not recovery or forfeiture. The official EAGLE website separately lists Rs 41.47 crore in property forfeitures under an NDPS financial probe and Rs 148.09 crore worth of drugs seized in 2024. It does not explain how those figures relate to the reported Rs 100.42 crore. EAGLE says forfeiture proceedings will follow convictions. Until then, the money is frozen—not recovered.
