EAGLE is real. This specific bust? Unclear

Telangana’s anti-drug EAGLE force exists and alprazolam trafficking is documented. The claimed Rachakonda raid with six arrests and 1.18 kg seized hasn’t surfaced in an official note yet.

A Telangana police evidence table holds a sealed evidence bag marked “1.18 kg?”, beside an empty press-note folder and a working phone labelled “1908”; official-looking agency files sit in the background.

The EAGLE force and its hotline are documented; the specific Rachakonda seizure awaits an official record.

Telangana’s anti-drug unit EAGLE — the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement — is on the books, with the state promoting a 1908 toll-free line and urging citizens to report drug activity. That much is not a claim; it’s from the government’s own material and the Drugs Control Administration’s notices.

What remains unverified today is a specific report doing the rounds that the EAGLE Task Force and Rachakonda Narcotic Police arrested six people and seized 1.18 kg of alprazolam allegedly meant for toddy adulteration across districts. No accessible press note, FIR summary or official social post from Rachakonda Police or EAGLE was found to back those particulars — names, FIR number, sections, test report, locations — any of it.

Alprazolam cases in Telangana are real and recent: the NCB Hyderabad unit said it seized 39.470 kg in a separate 2026 manufacturing case, and EAGLE-linked enforcement earlier saw 1.09 kg seized in the Gummadidala matter, according to published reports. Those are different investigations, with different facts, and can’t be borrowed to prop up another claim.

So here’s the record: EAGLE exists, the hotline is live, alprazolam trafficking is a live problem — and the touted “six arrests/1.18 kg” Rachakonda bust needs an official document before it’s a fact. Telangana has done the work of standing up a unit; the least the rest can do is publish the press note.
