Hyderabad’s district administration has put out an auction notice for vacant commercial shops across 2BHK colonies constructed by GHMC — an open public auction on July 31 and August 1, 2026, at Hari Hara Kala Bhavan, Secunderabad, and Babu Jagjivan Ram Bhavan, Banjara Hills, described as Phase-II and sold “as is where is,” according to the district website.
The issuing line on the page names the District Collector & Chairman (Costing and Project Management Committee). It adds a standard rider: if a date is a holiday, the auction shifts to the next working day. What is clear is the direction of travel: fill dead storefronts in public housing that should be serving residents. The Congress and BJP love a “housing for all” podium; this one needs the numbers, not the ribbon.
