HC asks: check Malakpet CCTV
A report says the Telangana High Court told Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar to examine Malakpet PS CCTV for a 24-hour window after a goldsmith alleged custodial violence. The allegation is his; the order is yet to be seen on court pages.

News, not spin: a published report says the Telangana High Court directed Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar to examine CCTV footage from Malakpet police station between 6:30 pm on July 17 and 6:30 pm on July 18. The report attributes the order to Justice Tangirala Madhavi Devi, in a petition filed by P. Srikanth, 37, described as a goldsmith. According to the same report, Srikanth alleged he was picked up around 7 pm on July 17, pressured to confess and to withdraw a writ petition, and remanded the next day; his counsel was named as K. Ajith Reddy. It also says a representation was sent by registered post to the DGP and forwarded to the city commissioner, and that medical reports and injury photos were submitted.
Two important caveats: the allegations are Srikanth’s; nothing in the material we could locate independently establishes torture or illegal detention. And the court’s exact order is not visible on the High Court’s public pages we checked; the cause list shows Justice Madhavi Devi’s court, but not this petition.
If the footage exists and is intact, it answers more than a press note ever will. If it does not, that silence writes its own report.
