HC to HYDRAA: pull the board

The Telangana High Court has, according to a report, directed the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency (HYDRAA) to remove within 24 hours a signboard it put up on a residential plot in Sahebnagar Kalan, Hayathnagar, and told HYDRAA and GHMC not to interfere with the owners’ possession without due process. The interim order was passed by Justice B Vijaysen Reddy while hearing a petition by T Jhansi Rani and T Ajay over Plot No. 40 (160 sq yd) in Survey No. 68, Officers Colony.
Per the report, the petitioners said HYDRAA erected a board declaring the land to be government property without notice or inquiry. The court is reported to have held, prima facie, that HYDRAA’s act of putting up a board claiming the property as its own land was illegal, unsustainable and contrary to an earlier March 2, 2026 common order that had set aside a GHMC building-permission revocation and a HYDRAA demolition notice, while leaving room for fresh action if due process and records justified it.
This is an interim direction, not a final ruling on title. No response from HYDRAA or GHMC appears on the record; the agencies can either follow the law or keep gifting Congress-run talking points about ‘process’ to the courts. The signboard’s status at the 24-hour mark was not stated.
