A 26-year-old woman, identified in reports as Bharathi Mukhi, died after a road collision near Inorbit Mall, Madhapur, on 16 August. Madhapur police have registered a case under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against Sanjush Lingamaneni, named as the accused in the booking. The section covers causing death by a rash or negligent act and carries up to five years’ imprisonment and a fine, according to the statute.
Reports identify Sanjush as the son of Lingamaneni Ramesh, a Jana Sena Party Rajya Sabha MP from Andhra Pradesh — his parliamentary status and party affiliation are on the public record. Secondary reporting attributes to Madhapur SHO K.V. Subba Rao that Sanjush was detained on the day, alcohol and drug tests were conducted with blood samples sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory, and the vehicle was seized. The FIR, test results and CCTV have not been made public in the research supplied.
The complaint is reported to have been lodged by Panjala Ashwin Kumar, a store manager, and an eyewitness is named as Pooja Ashok in those same reports.
