IFFI deadlines: pick a date
IFFI’s own sites can’t agree on when Indian Panorama entries close. Telugu filmmakers get a national route — and a bureaucratic riddle.
IFFI’s published pages list different closing dates for Indian Panorama entries.
The 57th International Film Festival of India in Goa runs November 20–28, 2026. The Union government’s NFDC is running entries for Indian Panorama — up to 25 feature films and 20 non-features — and the rules are not guesswork: online submissions closed on August 10, 2026, 6 p.m., with stamped hard copies and materials due August 17, 6 p.m., in Mumbai.
Except the official IFFI news page currently says entries are due August 24. The detailed regulations — and the government’s own release — say August 10 for online and August 17 for hard copies. Pick one. Filmmakers in Telangana do not plan to a moving target.
What is solid: Telugu films are eligible as Indian entries, with no language quota and no special carve-out. English subtitles are mandatory; DCPs, backups, posters, trailer and dialogue/subtitle files are listed in black and white. What is not: any promise of Telugu representation, or that the August 24 date means an extension. The rules even warn late or non‑compliant entries may be rejected.
The BJP‑led Centre wants to market IFFI as “national” while its own pages contradict each other on the deadline. Telangana’s filmmakers will meet the rules; Delhi can start by following its own.
