‘I’m Game’ skips Aug 20, goes Sep 3
Dulquer Salmaan’s film moves to a five-language rollout on September 3. Telugu joins the party then, not earlier.
I’m Game is now scheduled for a five-language theatrical release on September 3.
Dulquer Salmaan’s I’m Game will not arrive on August 20 after all. The makers announced on August 13 that the film is moving to September 3 for a wider, simultaneous theatrical release in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada. Onmanorama reported the shift, quoting the makers’ rationale of “scale” and “reach”. The updated 123Telugu calendar now lists the Telugu dub for September 3, not August 20.
Earlier previews had circled August 20 as a five-language worldwide date; Telugu Times ran that line in July. The plan changed. The Instagram announcement attributed to Dulquer frames it as an upgrade — “the game gets bigger” — which is marketing, not a metric. What’s on record is the date and the five-language strategy; what isn’t yet disclosed is who is distributing Telugu, how many screens it gets, or any booking data.
For Telugu audiences who showed up for Dulquer after Sita Ramam and Lucky Baskhar, the wait is two more weeks. The only calendar that matters is the one the producers actually follow.
