Irumudi’s numbers arrive before the audit
Ravi Teja’s Irumudi is touting North America pre-sales and week-one milestones. They’re claims — with authors — not audited accounts.
Promotional figures for Irumudi were reported before audited accounts were published.
Ravi Teja’s Irumudi locked its North America premieres for August 20 and a worldwide date of August 21. The producers announced the date with a new poster; the distributor in North America is Prathyangira Cinemas. According to a distributor update reported a day before premiere, pre-sales in North America had crossed $125,000, with the usual “and counting” caveat as more shows opened.
A later distributor post, indexed via a social mirror, pushed that to “$175K and counting” and “10,000+ tickets sold and counting.” Those are Prathyangira’s own claims; the original X posts weren’t directly retrievable in our search.
After release, a trade report said the film was “nearly $800,000” in two days in North America, would be profitable at $800,000, and was on track to hit $1 million in week one and “$1.5 million guaranteed.” These are reported projections and business claims, not reconciled settlements — no theatre-by-theatre data, distributor share statements or audited filings were provided.
So the number on record today is this: pre-sales claims from the distributor, followed by tracker and trade estimates. That’s standard for the industry; it’s still marketing until someone publishes the books.
