Jurala has arrests, not storage figures
Farmers sought irrigation water; police stopped them and detained BRS leaders. The government still has not published the reservoir arithmetic behind the decision.

Farmers had protested for several days before police stopped them and BRS leaders from reaching the project on September 21. Former Makthal MLA Chittem Rammohan Reddy was taken into custody, while former ministers Singireddy Niranjan Reddy and C. Laxma Reddy, among others, were reported to have been placed under house arrest. The project was heavily secured. (Telangana Today)
The government’s explanation, given by Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, was that water scarcity and drinking-water needs required caution. K.T. Rama Rao countered that Jurala held 9 TMC ft and that 2 TMC ft would meet drinking-water needs. Those figures remain political claims: the government has not published the September 21 storage, inflow, outflow, reserve or release calculations. The only KRMB figure located was 5.91 TMC on July 5, not on the protest date. (KRMB)
Later, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy reportedly sought water from Karnataka for Jurala. The Congress government in Karnataka has yet to answer publicly in the material reviewed. Until the official logs appear, Telangana gets the arrests and the governments keep the arithmetic backstage.
