KTR alleges 25-year-old land was reclaimed
The BRS leader says 3.5 acres allotted to Thota Agaiah after his 1999 surrender was taken back by the Revanth Reddy government. The documents are still missing.
The land claim remains disputed, while the supporting records have not been produced.
BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao alleged on September 17 that the Telangana government took back 3.5 acres allegedly allotted to party leader Thota Agaiah 25 years ago under a rehabilitation arrangement.
Speaking at Telangana Bhavan, KTR said Agaiah, identified as the BRS president of Rajanna-Sircilla district, had surrendered as a former Naxalite in 1999 and received the land from the then Telugu Desam government. He alleged that the Revanth Reddy government recently reclaimed it, and suggested that Agaiah’s BRS affiliation was the reason.
The claim remains just that: an allegation. No allotment order, survey number, revenue notice, resumption order or land record was located. The report also contains no response from Revanth Reddy or the Revenue Department. A 2020 Telangana High Court case involving Agaiah concerns a criminal petition, not this land claim. For now, KTR has supplied the charge; the government has not bothered to supply the paperwork—or answer it.
