Masked men, DJ permission and one missing CCTV answer
BRS leaders alleged an attempted assault on KTR’s aides inside Saifabad police station. A report attributed a denial to the Khairatabad DCP. The footage remains offstage.
The competing accounts remain public; the station CCTV footage has not.
The alleged assault inside Saifabad police station now comes with two accounts and no publicly available footage to settle them. BRS leaders said masked men entered around 6.30 pm on September 14 and tried to attack KTR’s aides, Manikya Mahesh and Kumbala Mahender Reddy, during questioning in an Assembly-related case. The allegation has not been independently established. [1][2]
Harish Rao alleged the men were masked police personnel and demanded that CCTV footage be preserved and released. KTR accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of responsibility; that allegation is not supported by evidence currently available. [2] The Congress government has not publicly answered those allegations, leaving the most important part of the dispute to political statements.
A report published on September 15 attributed a different account to Khairatabad DCP K. Shilpa Valli: youths who came seeking permission for a Ganesh mandapam DJ argued with police after recognising Mahesh, while station CCTV showed no assault. The report did not publish the footage, a written police statement or a recording of the DCP. [3]
The Telangana High Court had granted the two men interim protection from arrest while allowing the investigation to continue. [4] For now, the public record establishes a dispute, not who entered the station or what the cameras recorded. The CCTV is apparently the only witness that has declined political office.
