Saifabad station, masked men and missing answers
BRS leaders allege an attempted assault on KTR’s staffers during questioning. Police have yet to publicly explain what happened inside the station.
Questions were raised about events inside Saifabad police station; police have not publicly explained the allegations.
Two staffers of BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao were questioned at Saifabad police station on September 14 in connection with a September 7 Telangana Assembly case. The Telangana High Court has reportedly barred coercive action, including arrest, while allowing the investigation to continue. (Times of India)
BRS leaders then alleged that 15–20 masked men entered the station around 6.30 pm and tried to attack Kumbala Mahender Reddy and Manikya Mahesh, identified respectively as KTR’s personal assistant and media coordinator. KTR asked whether the men were Congress workers or plain-clothes police; Harish Rao suggested they could have been Task Force personnel. Those identities remain unestablished. (Telangana Today)
What is established is that the two men were summoned for questioning. What is not is the alleged assault, any injuries, the existence or contents of CCTV footage, or police involvement. Hyderabad City Police, Saifabad police, the Telangana government and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy have not publicly answered the allegations. The Congress government’s silence leaves the station with one documented feature: questions, and no official answers.
