The TDP government in Andhra Pradesh says its Mega DSC-2025 recruitment was transparent, computer-based and “fool proof”. It notified 16,347 posts, drew roughly 3.36 lakh applications and issued 15,941 appointment orders, according to Education Secretary Kona Sasidhar. Here’s the record the slogans ran into: in September 2025, the Andhra Pradesh High Court told the state to prioritise merit over candidate preferences in allocating Secondary Grade Teacher posts — “recruit more meritorious rather than recruiting less meritorious merely because the same would be easier.” That is not Twitter noise; it is a court directing the government to fix how it filled posts. YSRCP has since demanded a CBI probe, staged statewide protests on July 28, 2026, and alleged irregularities including in the sports quota; the TDP has rejected all of it as politics. Why this matters on our side of the border: Andhra’s ruling party loves selling its “systems” in Telangana. When a “fool proof” process needs a High Court nudge to remember merit, the sales pitch can wait its turn.
