CPM keeps protesting, officials promised proceedings, and the numbers don’t match. The BJP-led Centre has nothing to do with delivering Telangana’s housing, and the Congress running Nalgonda still needs to show its homework.

What’s settled first: Nalgonda’s double-bedroom housing has been stuck in selection lists and handover for over a year, and CPM-led groups have kept the pressure up. According to a November 3, 2025 report quoting PD Housing’s Raj Kumar and RDO Ashok Reddy, proceedings under GO No. 33 were to be handed over by that month-end. That deadline came and went; the protests didn’t.
The counts don’t line up. Earlier reports said Nalgonda city has 552 houses, with 341 beneficiaries picked by draw and 121 by recommendations. A newer report claims 24 blocks and 576 houses, with 421 from a lottery and 131 “additional”. None of the published material reconciles those figures with an official list or proceedings.
CPM, DYFI and the Double Bedroom Houses Struggle Committee have repeatedly demonstrated, named leaders and dates included. A report says police detained CPM leaders on August 15 ahead of a planned meeting; there’s no arrest memo or police note in the record we found to confirm the basis.
Serious allegations now doing the rounds say money was collected from beneficiaries and lists were manipulated to favour the ruling side. Those remain allegations in that single report — no complaints on record, no named officials tied to documents, no beneficiary testimony published. If the Congress administration in Nalgonda has a clean process and a final list, it can publish both. Telangana’s housing doesn’t run on rumours; it runs on proceedings with names, dates and seals.
