NEET-PG’s Jaipur power problem gets a retest
NBEMS says 2,445 candidates could not complete the exam after internal power-supply issues at two Sitapura centres; the re-exam is set for September 5.

NEET-PG 2026 will be held again for 2,445 candidates after the examination could not be completed at two iON Digital Zone Sitapura centres in Jaipur on August 30. The re-examination is scheduled for September 5 at 3 pm in Jaipur, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) said.
According to the Union health ministry’s Press Information Bureau release, the disruption involved internal power-supply issues at centres 41682 and 41683. NBEMS said the issue was attributable to TCS Ltd, the examination conducting agency. The wider exam had 2,73,096 registered candidates; 2,65,980 appeared and about 2,63,535 completed it.
A PTI report said candidates protested and alleged repeated system shutdowns, with some claiming questions appeared on screens after systems restarted. Those claims have not been confirmed by an official inquiry. PTI also reported that NBEMS called an immediate meeting on action involving the technology partner and infrastructure agency. The official release does not provide details of such action.
NBEMS said venue details and further instructions will be communicated separately. The exam has a new date. The venue, safeguards and accountability still appear to be awaiting one.
