Nurse found dead, security questions remain
A 21-year-old nurse was found dead in staff accommodation near a Tukkuguda hospital. Police are investigating a murder case; the Telangana Nurses Association is asking for safer housing and stronger workplace safeguards.
The investigation continues as questions remain about security at staff accommodation near the hospital.
A 21-year-old nurse identified in reports as Vuke Shirisha, also reported as Uke Shireesha or Sirisha, was found dead in staff accommodation near Prime Care Hospital in Tukkuguda, within Pahadishareef police-station limits. Reports said she had facial injuries. Police initially described the death as suspicious and shifted the body for post-mortem examination. “We have reached the spot and are currently investigating the matter,” police said, according to a statement reported by ANI.
Reports published on August 31 said police arrested or detained a man identified variously as Mohammed Sanaullah, Md Sanaullah Khan or Sana Ullah Khan, described as a mechanic from Bihar, in connection with the case. The reports differ on his age. The available material does not establish whether he was formally arrested or detained at that stage, and does not include an FIR, remand report, autopsy report or police press note.
The Telangana Nurses Association has sought tighter security, safer residential accommodation and stronger institutional safeguards for nurses. Those are modest demands for people being asked to work nights in facilities whose security arrangements have not been publicly detailed. The hospital has not publicly responded in the material reviewed. The investigation now needs records, not another round of political theatre.
