Raidurg crores, FTL still a shrug
TGIIC’s Raidurg auctions are raking in four-digit crores. The Congress government in Telangana is sprinting on monetisation while the Durgam Cheruvu FTL question it inherited remains to be notified — because the court asked the Lake Protection Committee to do it, and we’re still waiting.

TGIIC sold 5.09 acres in Raidurg’s Survey No. 83/1 for Rs 1,038.36 crore on June 1, 2026 — part of the state’s asset-monetisation push, per the auction reporting. A previous 6.29-acre parcel in the same survey fetched about Rs 237 crore per acre. The money is real; so is the paperwork gap the Congress government won’t talk about.
Here’s the gap. In an order dated 14 October 2024, the Telangana High Court told the Lake Protection Committee to hear objections and then issue a notification identifying Durgam Cheruvu’s Full Tank Level. The case involved land in Survey No. 6 of Raidurg village shown within the lake FTL; the court did not bless either side — it ordered the Committee to decide and notify. That notification is what anchors buffers and boundaries. Until it exists, big-ticket decisions next door deserve more than sales hype.
There’s also chatter about “heritage hills” and an NHRC “case” against planned August auctions. The NHRC’s own public site does not show a matching entry, and the report making the claim did not publish a case number, notice or complaint. If the Congress government in Telangana has a clean set of clearances, it can publish them. If the Lake Protection Committee has done its job, it can show the FTL map. Until then, the crores are counted and the answers aren’t — and that evasion is on the government now running the show.
