Rao detained, and Telangana gets another clash report
The Telangana BJP chief was stopped from travelling to Nalgonda after clashes involving Congress and BJP workers. The legal basis and case details remain unpublished.

Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao was placed under house arrest and later detained in Hyderabad on September 1 while trying to travel to Nalgonda to meet district president Nagam Varshit Reddy and his family, according to published reports. The police action has several names in circulation — house arrest, detention, preventive custody — but no public order or detention memo explains which one legally applies. Even the paperwork appears to be under preventive custody.
Reports say police used a lathi-charge to disperse Congress and BJP workers in the Nalgonda–Yadadri-Bhongir area. Youth Congress activists were also detained after attempting to approach the Telangana BJP headquarters. The BJP submitted a representation to the Telangana DGP alleging attacks on its office and Varshit Reddy’s residence and seeking an impartial probe.
