Report flags GHMC ‘double payments’
A Telugu daily says GHMC’s payment software flagged possible duplicate bill clearances for civil works. No official document confirming it is public yet.
A reported software flag has raised questions about possible duplicate civil-work payments at GHMC.
A report has alleged that Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) cleared some civil‑work bills twice after its digital payment system flagged mismatches showing the same work under two IDs. The article says a software update exposed the issue, a list of contractors who received excess payments was prepared, and an internal inquiry was ordered with warnings of recovery, blacklisting and criminal cases.
The report does not publish amounts beyond “crores”, name contractors, list work orders, or attach any GHMC order, recovery notice or FIR. No publicly available GHMC document confirming duplicate disbursements, an inquiry order, or recovery action was located in this review. GHMC’s portal confirms it runs online engineering‑work and contractor services; it does not mention any duplicate‑payment probe.
Earlier this year, contractors separately complained of delayed dues tied to GHMC’s online systems — that was about pending payments, not duplicate ones. GHMC has not publicly responded to the duplicate‑payment allegation on the record found here.
