Rolls close; numbers don’t
ECI’s house-to-house push ends today. The timetable is firm; the final count isn’t public yet. Telangana voters can still fix missing names with Form 6 from August 1, the CEO said.
The revision timetable reaches its deadline while the final submission count remains pending.
The Election Commission’s revised clock for Telangana’s Special Intensive Revision runs out on August 3: Booth Level Officers’ house-to-house verification ends today, the draft rolls are due August 10, claims and objections run August 10–September 9, decisions by October 8, and the final rolls on October 12, according to the schedule reported by the CEO’s office and the ECI.
What we don’t have, yet, is a verified deadline-day count. The latest submission snapshot on record is from July 25: 3,38,26,448 enumeration forms distributed, 2,46,01,237 submitted and 92,25,211 not submitted, per a CEO status report cited then. Earlier, on July 18, officials pegged digitised forms at 2,06,52,577 and said all 3,38,26,421 forms had been distributed — a 27-form mismatch with the later tally that the accessible reports don’t explain. Both sets are mid-process figures, not today’s final.
The CEO, C. Sudarshan Reddy, has said the draft will include only voters who filled the enumeration form — and told those missing not to panic: Form 6 applications open from August 1 to restore names during claims and objections. He also acknowledged address issues in urban areas and flagged the lack of Hindi/Urdu forms to the ECI. More than 13.34 lakh electors were earlier labelled “uncollectible” — deaths, migration, duplicates and untraceable — but that is not the same as deletion, and no district-wise breakup is on the record accessed.
The process is an administrative one; the politics will arrive the second the draft does. For now, the schedule is clear, the remedy exists, and the final count is still to be shown on the record.
