Show the CWPRS report, or stop stalling
BRS says a CWPRS study clears Kaleshwaram barrages. The Congress government in Telangana hasn’t shown the document or filled a drop. Either publish the report and switch on Kannepalli, or admit the delay is politics dressed as “procedure.”
The Kannepalli system remains off while the report stays out of reach.
BRS general secretary T. Jeevan Reddy says a CWPRS report found the Kaleshwaram barrages safe and asked the government to switch on the Kannepalli motors and fill reservoirs. He said this on August 24 in Hyderabad. The report itself is not public. According to the CWPRS website, the national institute did test Kaleshwaram components — including parallel seismic tests at Sundilla — but no safety verdict for all three barrages is published there.
The Congress government’s own line last month was that the barrages would be run only after expert clearances from the NDSA and CWC. Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy also told reporters that tests by CWPRS and others were underway and operation would wait for certification. Earlier reporting on the NDSA assessment described damage across the system and called for deeper geotechnical work.
So here is the fork in the canal. If a CWPRS report clearing operations exists, the Congress-run government should release it and act. If it does not, say so plainly instead of hiding behind process while farmers wait. The BJP-led Centre’s own institute did the testing; the Congress government in Telangana pretending it cannot tell us what it said is not prudence — it’s a dodge.
