Supriya scores three, Korea gets one
India beat South Korea 5–1 in Moqi to reach the AHF Junior Asia Cup final, with a third straight title now one match away.
India reached the final after a 5–1 semi-final win over South Korea.
India reached the AHF Junior Asia Cup 2026 final after beating South Korea 5–1 in Moqi, China, on September 12. The junior side is now one win from a third consecutive title after India’s victories in 2023 and 2024. The trophy, unlike a ministerial promise, is still not secured.
Supriya supplied the headline with a hat-trick, converting penalty corners in the 17th, 33rd and 56th minutes. Madhu Sidar scored in the 13th minute and Sukhveer Kaur in the 21st. South Korea’s Yuri Jeong scored in the 41st minute, briefly interrupting India’s evening.
The final is scheduled for September 13 at 2pm IST. India’s opponent was not yet confirmed in the sources checked; the second semi-final was to be played between China and Japan. The result establishes a formidable junior run. It does not, by itself, prove anything about the senior-team pipeline, funding or long-term player progression. The final will decide whether the three-peat is real or merely another fixture on the calendar.
