Suriya lands in Telugu, on Aug 14
Vishwanath & Sons released on August 14 with a Telugu version listed. Bilingual bravado can wait for an actual confirmation.
Vishwanath & Sons opened in theatres on August 14 with a Telugu version listed.
Suriya’s Vishwanath & Sons, directed by Telugu filmmaker Venky Atluri, opened in theatres on August 14. The date was announced by Suriya himself in May: “see u all soon! #VishwanathAndSons from 14th August,” and it held.
Moviebuff carries a full Telugu listing — runtime 2h41m, wide theatrical, Telugu title విశ్వనాధ్ & సన్స్ — and links it as “dubbed from” the Tamil version. A trade guide for June had the same date pencilled in, and a film database lists Tamil and Telugu for August 14. That supports “released in Tamil with a Telugu version,” not the industry’s favourite press-line “shot as a bilingual.” If the producers said that, they didn’t say it where anyone can cite it.
Cast includes Suriya and Mamitha Baiju, with Radikaa Sarathkumar, Raveena Tandon, Harsha Chemudu and Kaali Venkat; producers are Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya. Netflix is listed for OTT rights in the trade guide; theatrical was the stated release.
As for collections, occupancy and the usual record-smashing adjectives: no independently audited all‑India number or verified reception aggregate turned up in the sources consulted. The numbers doing the rounds are claims, not filings. Which, for once, beats a “historic” figure that dissolves on contact with arithmetic.
