TDP asked questions, then called them settled
Naidu treated the Election Commission’s clarification as closure. Congress says the questions remain open. Telangana voters get to wait for the paperwork.
The clarification has arrived; the details are still awaited.
The TDP’s position on the Special Intensive Revision travelled a familiar route: first, ask for answers; then, after a clarification, declare the answers complete.
On September 25, TDP Lok Sabha floor leader Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu called Andhra Pradesh’s SIR transparent but said the Election Commission should clarify questions and maintain transparency. After the EC’s September 26 press note on Booth Level Officer visits, Form 6 applications and the ECINET portal, TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu said its “unanimous clarification” restored institutional credibility and put “all the misconceptions” to rest. (Indian Express)
Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said the statement did not directly deny the earlier findings and that questions remained unresolved. That is a political claim, not proof of unlawful voter deletions. But the shift in posture is documented: clarification requested, clarification received, case declared closed. (Congress statement)
Telangana is also covered by the 2026 SIR, with draft electoral-roll material already published at district level. Yet the material reviewed contains no Telangana-specific account of entries removed, retained or restored, and no clear public explanation of how “unmapped” voters will be notified and heard.
