Telangana Congress protests; ECI keeps the paperwork mysterious

The Election Commission has defended the Special Intensive Revision as a unanimous decision; detailed constituency-wise documents remain sought.
Telangana Congress held statewide protests on September 28, demanding Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation and explanations over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. The programme was part of a nationwide Congress call, with the Hyderabad protest planned at Ambedkar’s statue on Tank Bund. (The New Indian Express; Mirror Now)
The demands are specific: explain reported objections by Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, clarify the legal basis for SIR-related questions in Form 6, and publish constituency-wise data on deletions, objections and restorations. Congress has also alleged voter-list manipulation and called elections “rigged”. Those remain political allegations, not established findings.
The Election Commission’s reported defence is that all SIR decisions were approved unanimously by its three commissioners. Telangana’s CEO, meanwhile, said Booth Level Officers would review draft rolls with Booth Level Agents and process corrections under ECI guidelines.
