TG SAFE “formed”? Show us GO 67
A report says Telangana merged food safety and drug control into one authority called TG SAFE. The order it cites is missing from the record. Until the Health Department puts GO 67 on the table, this is a claim, not a reform.
The reported merger remains unsupported by a published Government Order.
A report on 16 August claims Telangana has unified food safety and the Drugs Control Administration into the Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs — TG SAFE — under “GO 67”, with six wings and initial operations in a “CORE region”. It gives no officer’s name, no date, no file number, and no copy of the order.
What the record does show: the Drugs Control Administration still presents itself as a separate department, and the state’s food safety function sits with the Commissioner of Food Safety at the Institute of Preventive Medicine. An official July 18 release records the Chief Minister asking for a stringent anti-adulteration law to be drafted after studying global practice. None of those sources mentions TG SAFE or GO 67.
So far, the central claim — that a new authority has been created by order — rests on a single media item with no primary document. If GO 67 exists, the Health, Medical and Family Welfare Department can publish it today and settle this. Until then, the merger is an assertion looking for a Government Order.
