Telangana’s Public Service Commission said a few OMR answer sheets “appear” to have been found on the roadside and has ordered an inquiry by its Superintendent of Police, according to a report published on July 26, 2026. The report said the sheets related to the 2018 Hostel Welfare Officers recruitment and were seen near PVNR Expressway pillars 230–240 in Hyderabad on Saturday night.
“The circumstances leading to this incident are being verified,” the Commission’s statement, as reproduced in the report, said. It directed the SP posted at TGPSC to find how the sheets reached a public place and submit a report within three days, adding that strict action would follow if a lapse is found.
TGPSC’s records show the Hostel Welfare Officer Grade-II exams under Notifications 07/2018 (Tribal Welfare) and 08/2018 (BC Welfare) were held on July 29, 2018, and could be conducted in offline OMR mode. The Commission has not publicly released the inquiry report or details such as the number of sheets, who found them, or whether personal data was exposed.
