Telangana reportedly approved a ₹500 special-show ticket for Nani-starrer The Paradise on September 23, with enhanced rates continuing through October 3. The approval is attributed to Home Department Memo No. 21/HOME-GEN2/2026, dated September 20. The memo itself has not been independently obtained.
Reports say the approval allowed additional charges of ₹48 for single screens and ₹95 for multiplexes from September 24 to 27, followed by ₹23 and ₹45 respectively until October 3, for up to five shows a day. The reported conditions also included public-service advertisements on narcotics, drugs and cybercrime.
The Telangana High Court, hearing a contempt petition, reportedly questioned why the decision arrived three days before the special show and said the memo appeared to lack reasons. The court left open a review or withdrawal and listed the matter for October 6, according to the reported proceedings.
The welfare condition is less tidy. Reports name Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and cite a contribution to the Telugu Film Industry Employees’ Welfare Committee. But one reproduced version says “₹1,00,000 (Rupees One Crore)”. That is one lakh in figures and one crore in words. The paperwork has apparently been granted its own plot twist.
