Telangana’s Home (General) Department reportedly permitted one special show of Nani-starrer The Paradise at 6.30 pm on September 23, with tickets priced at ₹500 including GST. The film’s regular release is scheduled for September 24. The approval was reported as having been issued on September 20 — three days before the premium show, leaving the paperwork with rather less advance notice than the audience got for the trailer.
The reported order also allows enhanced ticket prices for up to five shows a day. From September 24 to 27, the increase is ₹48 at single screens and ₹95 at multiplexes and special theatres. From September 28 to October 3, it falls to ₹23 and ₹45 respectively. The underlying government memo was not independently available in the consulted material.
The Telangana High Court has questioned the decision, noting that the memo did not specify reasons for the enhancement and was issued too close to implementation for interested people to seek a remedy. The court reportedly left it open to the government to review or withdraw the memo and posted the matter to October 6. The film gets its ₹500 show; the reasons are still waiting for theirs.
