The Paradise gets a temporary shield, not a review ban
A Bengaluru court restrained circulation of specifically identified alleged defamatory content before The Paradise’s September 24 release, while leaving genuine reviews untouched.
The interim restraint runs until the next hearing on October 28.
A Bengaluru court has granted the makers of Nani-starrer The Paradise a temporary ex parte injunction against allegedly false and defamatory material ahead of its worldwide theatrical release on September 24, 2026. The court order, dated September 19, names Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas LLP as plaintiff and X Corp as a defendant in O.S. No. 7027/2026. (court order)
The order records the producer’s claim that posts appearing after the August 6 trailer release were coordinated and intended to damage the film commercially. Those remain the producer’s submissions, not final findings. The court said the material appeared to go beyond “standard artistic evaluation”, but confined the restraint to specifically identified URLs and stated that it “does not hamper bona fide public reviews or genuine critique”. The protection lasts only until the next hearing on October 28 and is conditional on the plaintiff serving the case papers within 24 hours. The public order does not disclose the full defendant list, the URLs or the posts involved. So the film has not been granted a review ban. It has been granted a short legal umbrella, with the court still waiting to hear the people underneath it.
