The Paradise wins; box-office maths loses the plot

The Paradise is having the kind of opening weekend that makes trade trackers reach for superlatives and spreadsheets reach for aspirin.
TrackTollywood’s tracked chart estimated the Nani-starrer’s September 27 gross at ₹12.60 crore across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, from 595,122 tickets, 3,149 shows and 627 listed theatres. Its Telangana estimate was ₹7.35 crore from 312,979 tickets across 1,374 shows and 231 theatres, with 53.9% occupancy. These are tracker estimates, not audited collections.
Separate trade reports described the film as Nani’s biggest opening weekend. The figures vary: one report cited ₹76.40 crore India net and ₹119.50 crore worldwide after three days, while the makers’ poster claimed ₹136 crore worldwide in the same period. TrackTollywood’s chart also notes that its AP–Telangana trade-area figure can include Karnataka border towns, so the regional totals are not necessarily measured on identical boundaries.
The film, directed by Srikanth Odela and produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri’s Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas, is clearly being reported as a strong performer. The exact collection is still a tracker estimate wearing several different hats.
