Telugu cinema put two titles in Ormax Media’s August 2026 domestic box-office top 10, without waiting for a single star vehicle to carry the entire industry on its back.
Ormax’s chart lists Irumudi at an estimated ₹220 crore and Vishwanath & Sons at ₹142 crore. Both are multi-language releases, so these are all-India gross figures across language versions—not Telugu-only collections. Ormax’s report says the August top 10 included two Telugu films; identifying the titles requires matching the chart with separate film-language information.
The same report estimates August’s domestic gross at ₹1,768 crore, including projected future collections, making it the third-best month in its historical dataset. It puts January–August 2026 at ₹9,868 crore, 18% above the comparable period in 2025. Ormax says its figures are estimates and may be revised. The box office, unlike political promises, at least comes with a methodology note.
