Youth back Congress, data on leave
Revanth Reddy told his party bosses that Telangana’s youth are with Congress, have “completely” left the BRS, and won’t go near the BJP. The evidence stayed in Delhi too.

At a Congress review in Delhi under the AICC’s Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy reportedly briefed the high command that Telangana’s youth are on Congress’s side, are “completely” moving away from the BRS, and have no chance of shifting to the BJP — all three, in one sitting. According to the Telugu report that carried it, those are his assessments from the room, not figures from the field.
Here is what the record shows: the item was published on July 28 and attributes the claims to Reddy. Here is what it does not show: any poll, turnout slice, membership tally, crosstab, definition of “youth”, field dates or question text. If there is a dataset, it did not make the trip from Indira Bhavan.
The Congress has been busy with organisational theatre — an extended TPCC meet in Hyderabad days earlier; Rahul Gandhi on stage — but nothing in those materials supplies the numbers that Reddy’s line implies. The BJP, for its part, gets waved away in the briefing as a non-factor among young voters — convenient, and cost-free until someone publishes actual youth data.
Telangana’s interest is simple: say what you can show. A categorical “youth are with us, not with them” without a single table attached is campaign copy, not a finding. If the Congress high command has the numbers, it can release them. Until then, “completely” belongs to the speechwriter, not the spreadsheet.
