22 suspended, BRS takes the fight to Delhi
After 22 BRS MLAs were suspended for the Monsoon Session, party leaders submitted complaints to the NCW and NHRC over alleged police action against women legislators. Telangana’s Assembly dispute has acquired a Delhi address.

The Congress government in Telangana suspended 22 BRS MLAs for the remainder of the Monsoon Session after protests and disruptions in the Assembly. The suspension motion was moved by Legislative Affairs Minister D. Sridhar Babu and announced by Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar. The Assembly, at least, settled the matter by removing the people asking questions.
BRS leaders then took the dispute to Delhi. Sabita Indra Reddy, Sunita Laxma Reddy, Kova Lakshmi, Satyavathi Rathod, G. Jagadish Reddy and Palla Rajeshwar Reddy were reported to have reached the capital on September 11. Later reporting said BRS delegations met the National Commission for Women and the National Human Rights Commission and submitted complaints over alleged police assault and high-handedness involving women legislators near the Assembly.
Sabita Indra Reddy alleged that her throat was held and Sunita Reddy’s saree was pulled. Those claims remain allegations: the available material does not include CCTV footage, a police account, medical records or an institutional finding. Nor does it show that either commission has opened an inquiry. The Congress government has yet to answer the central complaint; Delhi now has the paperwork it created in Hyderabad.
