Bhu Bharati’s 10% challan problem gets bigger

BRS Legislature Party deputy leader T. Harish Rao alleged on September 11 that 1,390 land-registration documents in Jangaon, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri and Nalgonda had reduced challan payments between 2024 and 2026. His claim is that payments were cut to about 10% of the required amount, with the balance allegedly diverted, and that some farmers later received notices saying they had not paid in full. This is not an allegation floating in empty air. Warangal police had earlier reported 15 arrests in a related Dharani-Bhu Bharati case involving 1,080 documents, 22 cases and an estimated ₹3.90-crore loss across Jangaon and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri. Police said altered online fee receipts were used; farmers were subsequently asked to pay balances they said they had already paid. (Times of India; The New Indian Express; Siasat)
The difference between 1,080 and 1,390 has not been explained publicly. Neither has the Telangana Congress government published the alleged document list, loss calculation or action taken against officials. The portal can generate challans and show payment status. It has not, on the page reviewed, explained why citizens are being asked to pay twice.
