Land questions rise; answers remain under house arrest
Farmers were reportedly detained during a Vikarabad land protest, real-estate representatives said they were detained during a Chief Minister’s visit, and the BRS walked out over a disputed Tesseract allotment. The records behind the disputes are still missing.

Three Telangana land disputes have produced protests, reported detentions and a Legislative Council walkout. The paperwork, less dramatically, has not yet arrived.
Farmers from Kallapur/Kandlapur and Rapole villages in Vikarabad’s Parigi mandal reportedly protested on September 12 over land proposed for an industrial park. Reports said police broke up the protest around 1.30am and detained or moved farmers, including women and elderly protesters. Former Parigi MLA Mahesh Reddy and BRS workers were also reportedly arrested while going to meet them. The reports do not establish the number detained, offences invoked, or the acquisition terms. Separately, Telangana Realtors Association president Naragoni Praveen Kumar said he was placed under house arrest during Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s September 13 programme at Uppal Bhagayath, amid protests over the Section 22A prohibited-property list. On September 10, BRS members walked out of the Legislative Council after an adjournment motion on alleged land allotment to Tesseract Advanced Systems was rejected. The BRS alleged a Raviryala/Tukkuguda plot worth about Rs 200 crore was allotted for Rs 7 crore and linked the company to the Chief Minister’s brother. Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu called the claims false and said the process was transparent. An official iPASS entry confirms a Tesseract plot-related record in Peddapalli, not the disputed transaction. The Congress government has supplied a denial; it has not supplied the underlying file in the record reviewed.
